Alum, will be speaking about career and internship opportunities with the U.S.

Prior to his current position, in which he assists the
Director General of the Foreign Service manage the personnel systems of
the Department of State, Hans Klemm served as Economic Policy Advisor
to the Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs. In
that capacity, Ambassador Klemm represented the United States as the
Senior Official to APEC, the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation
forum. From July 2010 through January 2012, Ambassador Klemm led
all U.S. civilian and military rule of law programs in Afghanistan,
including counter-narcotics, counter-corruption, judicial capacity
building, detentions, corrections and law enforcement.
In 2007-1010, Mr. Klemm served as the U.S. Ambassador to
the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. He previously served
as Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in
Tokyo, responsible for all aspects of bilateral and multilateral
economic policy with Japan. Earlier, Mr. Klemm worked as Director of
the Office of Career Development and Assignments in the Bureau of Human
Resources, where he managed the assignment process and career
development programs for Foreign Service employees, and as the Director
of the Office of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Textile Trade Affairs
in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs. Overseas, Mr.
Klemm worked at U.S. embassies in Bonn, Seoul and Port of Spain, as
well as having multiple assignments in Tokyo.
