Members will act as Volunteer Coordinators for one year and will recruit,
train, interview, schedule, and supervise volunteers. AmeriCorps Members will
be provided with a living allowance and educational stipend upon completion of
service. Requirements: two years of college with experience in Social Work,
Family Development or related field, and experience in volunteer management, or
an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. For details

AmeriCorps Position - Deadline Extended to Jan. 21
The Bloomington Volunteer Network
is accepting applications for an AmeriCorps Member to work as part of the
Community Emergency Preparedness Corps. Members receive a living allowance of
$12,100 over a ten month term of service, an Education Award of $5,550 upon
successful completion of service, health benefits and child care assistance if
qualified, and the opportunity to make a difference. Applicants must be able to
participate in training in Atlanta, GA from Jan. 30-Feb. 1. Members will
average 40 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends. Deadline is

AmeriCorps - Habitat Construction Liason
Join the
efforts of Habitat for Humanity as an AmeriCorps service member. AmeriCorps is
a federally funded grant that operates as the domestic version of the Peace Corps.
The AmeriCorps position of Construction Services Liason with the Monroe County
Habitat affiliate will work during their 11-month position to build multiple
homes at a time, supervise crews and asssist in developing volunteer crew
leaders. An education award of $5500 is granted to each member upon completion
of a successful term of service in addition to an annual living stipend,
medical insurance, and optional housing. You do not have to be a construction
expert to be considered for this role - just have a willingness to learn, a
love for volunteers, and a passion for eliminating poverty housing in Monroe

The AmeriCorps Alumni Association is hosting a panel discussion. Panelists will discuss national service and the role of AmeriCorps, what AmeriCorps can offer communities and the future of the program.
Panelists include: Les Lenkowsky, former CEO of the Corporation for National Community Service; David Reingold, former Director of Research and Policy Development at the Corporation for National and Community Service; Erin Cooperman, program coordinator for AmeriCorps Improving Health Throughout Indiana; and the Indiana Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, an agency that administers $2 million in grants annually from the Corporation for National and Community Service for 13 AmeriCorps State programs.

Students! Join us for an information session at the local eco-friendly art studio, Twisted Limb Paperworks to learn about semester-long internships available in:
* Studio Art
* Graphic Design
* Media Communications and Marketing
Be some of the first guests at our newly remodeled and colorful studio and showroom on the B-line Trail.
Internships are eligible for up to three credit hours and are open to Studio Art, Art History, Graphic Design, Journalism, English, Communications & Culture, and Marketing Majors. There will be a presentation and tour, so please arrive at or just before 6:30. Please bring your resume, references, and class schedule.

Indiana University Bloomington is hosting 28 AmeriCorps positions during the 2010-2011 academic year through the support of Indiana Campus Compact. After completing 300 hours of community service, students will receive a $1,132 Education Award.

Indiana RAP Corps Now Recruiting for AmeriCorps
INDIANA RAP CORPS NOW RECRUITING FOR AMERICORPS 2010-2011
The Indiana RAP Corps, an AmeriCorps program funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service, is now recruiting for the 2010-2011 program year. This program, operating out of the American Red Cross, St. Joseph County Chapter, currently has members at 7 sites at Red Cross Chapters throughout North and Central Indiana and will expand to Bloomington in September.
Members of the Indiana RAP Corps work to increase community disaster preparedness and response by being trained as disaster responders and as educators so that they can help the community better plan for disasters likely in Indiana such as floods and tornadoes. In addition members of the Indiana RAP Corps assist with teaching life saving skills such as CPR and First Aid, and provide service to military families. As part of this program members receive a modest living allowance, and an education award that can be used for current or future education. Fulltime members are eligible for health insurance and child care. The position available in Bloomington is fulltime.
