For Students Interested in Graduate Level Teacher Certification Programs

The early deadline for applying to the Secondary Transition to Teach and Elementary Certification Master’s Programs  for the 2013-2014 academic year is November 30, 2013. Faculty will begin reviewing applications in December and will admit students until the cohorts are full.

The application deadline for the Joint B.S./M.S  Math or Science (Biology, Chemistry, Earth Space Science, or Physics) program is November 1, 2012, to begin in Spring 2013. The Joint B.S./M.S. program is a five year program in which students would receive a B.S and M.S. degree in addition to certification in secondary math or science once the program is completed. Students who are seniors in their B.S. programs this fall should apply by November 1st.  Students who are B.S. Math or Science majors should still make an appointment to get information about the Joint B.S./M.S. programs.

If Students are planning to begin  coursework in the Community of Teachers Graduate Certification or the Graduate Special Education programs (SPEDFIST) in spring 2013, it would be beneficial to begin submitting applications by November 1, 2012.

Masters of  Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) students who need to complete a certification program before obtaining their degrees should also begin the application process by November 1, 2012. Social Studies M.A.T. students must contact Keith Barton at kcbarton@indiana.edu

Students who are interested in the Visual Arts Graduate Certification Program should apply by the March 1, 2013 deadline.

All students who are interested in any of the above programs, should schedule an appointment with Alfreda Clegg soon to discuss the application process and program requirements. Students may schedule appointments at 812-856-8500 or stop by to schedule an appointment in Educ. 1000
