New Undergraduate Minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies

New Undergraduate Minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies

Understanding human-environment interactions and their connection with ecological, societal, and economic processes at local, regional, and global scales is a core competency in today’s world. The study of sustainability bridges the arts and humanities, social sciences, and the physical and life sciences. It complements traditional disciplines by offering an opportunity for education in the area of coupled natural and human systems that encompasses study of the environment, society, and economy. The minor, awarded jointly by the College of Arts and Science and the School of Public and Environmental Affairs, will be administered by the Integrated Program in the Environment. Students who are interested in learning more about the minor may contact academic advisor Carlin C. Schrag (cschrag@indiana.edu).

New Minor Program - Asian American Studies

Note: The AAST courses will not fulfill requirements for the INTL major as they have a domestic focus. However, I thought the program might be of interest to some INTL students.

Asian American Studies (AAS) is an interdisciplinary field that examines the history, arts, culture, and life experiences of people of Asian descent in the United States, ranging from recent immigrants to seventh- or eighth-generation Americans.

Read more about the courses and minor program here.
