Campus Spotlight: Career Development Center

I know, I am constantly plugging the CDC! But I can't help it, they have endless resources! I always advertise things like career fairs and Global Careers events, but here are some services you may not know about that are offered by the CDC....

• Drop-in advising: If you want to talk with a career advisor about career options, no appointment is necessary! During the spring, walk-in hours are M-F 12:30-4:00.
• Hour-long appointments: If a few minutes during drop-in hours isn't enough, set up an appointment with a career counselor. They will set aside an hour of time to talk with you about your interests.
• Courses: You may be familiar with Q 299, which is required by INTL, but the CDC offers many other course options for those who want to dig into preparing for a career. More here.
• Resume critique: During those drop-in hours, have a professional take a look at your resume/cover letter and make sure it's the best it can be!
• Resource Library: Read about careers your interested in and find ways to apply for jobs!

Campus Spotlight: Recorder's Office

The Recorder's Office is one of those places on campus that you may not know about until you need it, but so many of your questions can be answered there!

The Recorder maintains all academic records. By going to the office or the website you can...

Campus Spotlight: Student Academic Center

Did you know there is a place on campus where you can go for individualized help with many of the courses students find most challenging? It's true! The staff and volunteers at the Student Academic Center will help you learn more about your studying style and how to succeed at IU.

The 5 Best Things about the Student Academic Center:
1.   The SAC offers several courses for credit. If you’re currently enrolled in MATH-M 118 Finite, enroll in EDUC-X 101 for some additional classtime to work on the course material! This gives you the opportunity to work through problems and assignments in a smaller setting. More
2. Learn study skills with FREE Study Smarter workshops! More
3. Attend small group study sessions led by a student who has been through the course you're taking! This service is offered for Math courses, Econ, and more! You can even earn extra credit by attending! More

My Office Hours  and Reference Desk Hours for Spring 2011 are:

Mondays:  3-5 pm  Office Hours

Tuesdays:  2-4 pm (Reference Desk West Tower)

Office Location: Wells Library, Information Commons, Room W-121 (ask a librarian if you can't find my office).  If I’m at the reference desk, then just come on up and ask me a question.  Note:  Sometimes I have to swap reference desk shifts with other librarians because I have to do some teaching or have to go to a meeting, so this schedule might vary slightly from week to week.

Also, remember that we have hours and hours of *free* entertainment available at the Wells Library.  Visit the Wells Library, Lower Level and go into the Media & Reserve Services area (the door is next to the IU Credit Union ATM).  They have thousands of domestic and foreign films available.
