Bloomington Multicultural Expo

Sunday, September 18, 2011, 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Bryan Park, 1001 S. Henderson Street
We are excited about this year’s expo, and hope that you will plan to join us at Bryan Park, 1001 S. Henderson Street.
The purpose of the Bloomington Multicultural Expo is to celebrate the diverse populations living in Bloomington through entertainment, food and activities.  Throughout the afternoon of September 18, 2011, Bryan Park will come alive with the culture and expression of Bloomington residents.  With the participation of a myriad of cultural organizations, performers and musicians, this festival will promote the appreciation and respect for the value and strength of our diverse community.
To see why so many people attend this expo with its incredible array of local performers, cultural booths, and international foods, check out our official Bloomington Multicultural Expo website: http://www.bloomington.in.gov/bme
If you have any questions, please contact Sue Owens, Community and Family Resources Department, City of Bloomington by replying to this e-mail at owenss@bloomington.in.gov.

VOLUNTEER:
The Expo takes place in Bryan Park on Sunday, September 18th, and celebrates the diverse populations living in Bloomington, through entertainment, food and activities. We need volunteers to help with set-up, distributing programs, children’s crafts, monitoring program activities, and clean-up. We also need a photographer, and we will provide the camera. Volunteers will have the opportunity to interact with children and adults in the five cultural villages: Soul Food Festival Village, Festival Latino Village, Moon Festival Village, Native American Village, and International Festival Village.
The three volunteer shifts are 10:30AM-1:00PM, 1:00-3:30PM, and 3:30-6:00PM, and you may work for one or more shifts. Please email Araceli at aragomez@indiana.edu to indicate which shifts you want to work and whether you have any restrictions, such as with carrying tables and chairs. Please include your phone number in the email. Thank you!
