Asian Culture Center

Exploring Creative Writing led by Debra Kang Dean
Tuesday, February 8; 5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. ---Asian Culture Center, 807 E. 10th St.
Students not currently enrolled in creative writing classes as well as individuals from the community are invited to gather informally to explore our world through creative writing. No experience is necessary. This is a great way to explore the creative and artistic side of everyone.
Chinese Painting Class at the ACC
Thursday, Feb. 10; 5:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.--Conference Room, IU Asian Culture Center
Learn and practice traditional Chinese painting with Lan Yuzhi.  Lan has a BFA in Chinese painting and will be teaching the 6 sessions.  Gong Bi which is fine detailed painting and Xieyi, a free hand water and ink painting will be introduced in this class.  Participants will need to bring their own materials such as a small bottle of Chinese or Japanese ink, brush, and rice paper.  (Note: bottle of ink usually costs about $5.00 and brush about $3-4 at local arts store.  The teacher can also provide the rice paper for reasonable fee.  This class is open to 16 and above. Year of the Rabbit: Lunar New Year Celebration
Saturday, Feb. 12th; 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.--Monroe County Public Library
Stories, performances, crafts, and snacks to celebrate the beginning of the Lunar New Year. Drop-in to celebrate! No registration necessary. Children ages 7 and under should be accompanied by an adult.
