So,
why should you Relay? It’s simple, how many friends, family or loved ones do
you know that have been impacted by cancer? That’s why!
On behalf of the Indiana University Relay for Life committee, we
would like to invite you in joining us in this year’s Relay for Life event
on April 4-5, 2014. Relay for Life is an event where communities come together to honor cancer
survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has
already taken too much. The funds you raise truly make a difference in the
fight against cancer – just ask one of the nearly 14 million cancer survivors
who will celebrate another birthday this year!
Relay For Life teams camp out overnight and take turns walking
or running around a track to help raise money for cancer research through the
American Cancer Society. It’s an action-packed night, filled with fun and
activities to keep everyone going strong all night! With so many people
affected by the disease currently, it is important to support the cause and
raise money to find the cure that will end the battle.
To register for the event, get together a group of friends,
colleagues, co-workers, club members, family members, etc.! Create a team name,
and go to this link: relayforlife.org/iuin. Every member on your
team has to raise a minimum of $10 upon registering. Individuals who raise a
minimum of $100 will also get a free Relay for Life t-shirt! The team with the
most money raised at the event wins a prize, and the gratification of knowing
they are helping millions of people around the world who have struggled with or
are currently struggling with cancer.
Come
out with everyone you know on April 4th
& 5th for a day filled with games, food,
survivor speeches, music, live performances and so much more!
