Critical Language
Scholarship Application Workshop –
This workshop will cover the
documents required for the scholarship application. This program offers
fully-funded summer language institutes for U.S. undergraduate and graduate
students in:
- Azerbaijani,
Bangla/Bengali, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Punjabi, Turkish, and Urdu:
Beginning, advanced beginning, intermediate and advanced levels;
- Arabic
and Persian: Advanced beginning, intermediate and advanced levels;
- Chinese,
Japanese, and Russian: Intermediate and advanced levels.
No campus deadline. National
deadline is Friday Nov. 15th at 8pm.
Time and location: the ground floor conference room in the International
Programs building at 201 N. Indiana Ave. which is between 6th and 7th
Sts. across from Dunn Meadow. Tues. Nov. 5th – 3 - 4pm
DAAD (Deutscher
Akademischer Austausch Dientst) Info Session -
A representative of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) will
be on campus to discuss funding opportunities available for short- and
long-term research and study in Germany for both undergraduate and graduate
students.
Time and location: the info session will take place on Wed. Nov.
6th from 11-12 in the Dowling International Center at
111 S. Jordan Ave. (Same location as the Office of Overseas Study). The event
is open to all and no RSVP is required. Bring your lunch and your questions
about DAAD!
Boren Scholarship and
Fellowship Info Sessions -
A representative of the
National Security Education Program (NSEP) will be on campus to talk about
Boren scholarships and fellowships and answer questions.
Campus deadline for the
scholarships is: January 8, 2014. No campus deadline for fellowships.
National deadline for
scholarships is February 5, 2014. National deadline for fellowships is Jan. 28,
2014.

The Fulbright-Clinton Fellowship (formerly the Fulbright Public Policy
Fellowship) provides opportunities for U.S. citizens to build mutual

Inter-American Foundation
(IAF) Fellowships for Dissertations
For students who have
advanced to candidacy for a Ph.D. in the social sciences, physical sciences,
technical fields or other disciplines as related to grassroots development
issues in Latin America or the Caribbean (except Cuba).
The deadline for applications
for the 2013-2014 Fellowship Cycle of the IAF Grassroots Development Ph.D.
Fellowship Program is January 6, 2014.
Whitaker International Program
Sends undergraduate and graduate students in biomedical engineering (or
bioengineering) overseas to undertake a self-designed project that will enhance
their careers within the field.
