An informal talk and Q&A
with Augustin Fosu, the former Deputy Director of the United Nations
University World Institute for Development Economics Research
Augustin FOSU is currently Professor, Institute of
Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana. He is
also honorary Research Associate, Centre for the Study of African Economies,
University of Oxford, UK. Other previous positions include: Director of
the Economic and Social Policy Division and Senior Policy Advisor /Chief
Economist, at the UN Economic Commission for Africa, Addis Ababa; Ethiopia, and
Director of Research, African Economic Research Consortium, Nairobi,
Kenya. He holds PhD and Master’s degrees in economics from Northwestern
University, USA, and a Bachelor’s in mathematics and economics from Lawrence
University, USA.
Prof. Fosu is co-editor of the Journal of African
Economies (Oxford) and additionally serves on the editorial boards of many
other journals, including: African Development Review, Feminist Economics,
Journal of Development Studies, Oxford Development Studies, World Bank
Economic Review, and World Development.
