Tuesday, September 11th at 1:30 pm at the Career Development Center come join us for a talk from Mr. Michael Auten of the Open Source Center. He will be giving an introduction to his center and detailing internship and employment opportunities for language students in the following areas: Turkish, Farsi/Persian, Kurdish, Hebrew, and Arabic; Spanish, French, Portuguese, and two or more West European languages; East European languages; Russian, Uzbek, Ukrainian, and Central Eurasian dialects; Korean, and Japanese; Hindi, Urdu, Dari, and Pashtu.
The Open Source Center (OSC) is the U.S. Government's premier provider of foreign open source intelligence. Through its web-based communications system, OSC provides customers with comprehensive reporting and analysis on foreign political, military, economic, technological, and other developments.
Michael Auten is Deputy Program Manager for the Open Source Center's Northeast Asia Program. He has worked at the Open Source Center as an analyst and manager since 1999. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Russian and East European Studies from the University of Illinois (Champaign) and his Master's in International Relations from George Washington University (Washington, DC).
