Feb. 6, East Asian Film Series: "Abnormal Beauty"

The second showing of the Spring 2012 East Asian Film Series will be on Monday, February 6. Tickets are required--see information below.

Abnormal Beauty features Race Wong as Jiney, a talented student of Arts who experiences trauma from her childhood and lack of communication with her mother. She is an excellent photographer that is not satisfied with her awarded works. When she witnesses a car crash, she is driven by a morbid wish and takes pictures of the dead victim. She becomes obsessed with death, and her close friend Jas (Rosanne Wong) feels that Jiney needs help with her abnormal behavior and attraction.

In Cantonese with English subtitles, 101 minutes, rated R. Genre: Horror
Admission will be free, but tickets will be required. Tickets may be obtained through the IU Auditorium box office, Mon.-Fri., 10 a.m.-5 p.m. or in the IU Cinema lobby 30 minutes prior to the screening.  If all tickets have been issued for a free event, the IU Cinema will recognize a waitlist line to seat additional patrons, should seats become available.
