GYC Participant, Shivani Suresh (right), recently addressed a question to the Rwandan Minister of Health, Dr. Agnes Binagwaho (left), during the January 2012 GYC Delegation to Rwanda. The meeting with the minister touched on Universal Health Care (available in Rwanda) and the support available in Rwanda for special groups such as LGBTI Individuals and Survivors of Rape
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I wanted to remind you that the regular application deadline for Global Youth Connect’s Summer 2012 Human Rights Programs in Rwanda, Bosnia, and New York City is January 30th.
All of these programs (including the NYC program) are open to young leaders from around the USA and Canada.
The age range for the NYC program is 16 - 30 years and for Rwanda and Bosnia the range is 18 - 35.
Each program includes a human rights and/or conflict resolution workshop, volunteer service with grassroots organizations, and key site visits for learning and action -- such as the visit depicted in the picture above.
People can apply to one or multiple programs.
