Dodge-ball Tournament – Latinos Unidos Team

LUIU's team for the IU Rec Sports 4v4 Dodgeball tournament is scheduled to play our 3 games on Monday the 28th of November at 7 pm. If you are interested in participating please email Adrian Maxwell at ahmaxwel@umail.iu.edu . If you don't think you want to play all three games then you are welcome to just play one or two depending on the amount of people we have show up. LUIU has covered the registration fee and so all you have to do is show up and have a good time! Simply email us as soon as possible if you are interested.
“Diaries of Death/Diarios de Muerte”

Talk and photos by Alexandra McNichols is a Colombian-American photographer, who also has worked as a writer, journalist and editor. In the last twenty years the Embera people have fled their territories in the jungles of north-west Chocó, Colombia, South America. This indigenous tribe have been terrorized, bombed, killed and kidnapped by leftist guerrillas groups, right wing paramilitaries, and the Colombian army and by monopolies. The photographs displayed were taken in Bogotá and in the Chocó region; they were collected to plea for the Embera who are at risk of extermination as well as other 27 indigenous tribes in Colombia.

Guest Speaker Jhon Antón of FLACSO-Quito and Carlos de la Torre (University of Kentucky) will present this Spanish-language talk on the development of Afro-descendent social movements in the Andes.
