IU Art Museum Events

Throughout the fall semester, the IU Art Museum is featuring a special program, "The Spoils of War: Art in Nazi Germany.” The centerpiece of the program is a self-guided tour in the museum's first-floor gallery of Western art. Free guides for the tour are available in the gallery.
Several other related events are taking place this month, including a gallery talk and
film on Sunday, September 11, and a special lecture and reception on Friday, September
16, at 4:30 p.m. The lecturer is Nancy Yeide, the Head of Curatorial Records at the
National Gallery of Art; her talk is co-sponsored by the Robert A. and Sandra S. Borns Jewish Studies Program, the Robert and Avis Burke Lecture Series in the Department of the History of Art, and the Department of Germanic Studies.  Several events are also scheduled for later in the semester. All events are free and open to the public.
"The Spoils of War: Art in Nazi Germany" is sponsored by Themester 2011: Making War,
Making Peace. A full description and schedule of events can be found here:

I hope that many students, faculty, and classes will be able to take advantage of this
program.
