La Casa Events

Thu, February 17: Preppin’ for the profession plus a mixer as an added bonus
700pm - 800pm; La Casa (715 E.7th St.)
Dr. John Nieto-Phillips (History, Latino Studies, and American Studies, and director of the Latino Studies program) will be our guest lecturer/facilitator. How's that publications section of your CV looking these days? Ever heard the phrase publish or perish? As the Associate Editor of the Journal of American History for the past four years, he will be leading us in a discussion on publishing - how to produce good work and get it out there. With the daunting reality of the ever increasing importance of publications in job placement, promotion, etc, this is a workshop you won't want to miss. Then, join us immediately after at Yogi's for our monthly Thirsty Thursday's event, to gripe about grad school, love lives, and long for the simpler days of undergrad, warm weather, and a paycheck that's more than laughable.
