Chinese Painting Class at the ACC
Thursdays on Feb. 24, March 10 & 24, April 7, 5:15-7:00 p.m.; Lounge, IU Asian Culture Center
Learn and practice traditional Chinese painting with Lan Yuzhi. Lan has a BFA in Chinese painting. Gong Bi, which is fine detailed painting, and Xieyi, a free hand water an dink painting will be introduced in this class. Participants will need to bring their own materials such as a small bottle of Chinese or Japanese ink, brush, and rice paper. (Note: bottle of ink usually costs about $5 and a brush about $3-4 at local arts store. The teacher can also provide the rice paper for a reasonable fee. This class is open to 16 and above. Advance free registration is required. You man email acc@indiana.edu to reserve a spot or for questions.

Let's Play Mahjong 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. & GO Game 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Go, the oldest game still played in its original form, is a wonderful game to learn and play with a couple of your friends. Mahjong, a game of wit and fortune, is a great afternoon relaxer on a Friday afternoon. Stop by and learn these great games. For more information, email the ACC. Hope to see many participants there!
Asian Language Learning Program
Beginning the week of January 24th
Need tutoring in an Asian language? Need to learn basic survival phrases in an Asian language? The ACC can help! We currently have informal classes for Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Mandarin, Thai, and Vietnamese. All tutorials are one hour and are held at the ACC. Learn and practice the ancient art of East Asian Calligraphy. During our meetings, instructor Xing Zhou will share some interesting facts about Chinese calligraphy as well as teach you to write the ancient script. Beginners are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Lessons are free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the ACC.
