21st Century Scholars: Important info about Studying Abroad!

The Office of Student Financial Assistance and the Office of Overseas Study have finalized a plan to offer supplemental financial support for summer study abroad for 21st Century Scholars who currently receive the Covenant Award (http://www.indiana.edu/~overseas/first/financial-aid/covenant.shtml) .  In addition, beginning  in fall 2011,  all 21st Century Scholars (Covenant and non-Covenant recipients) will be able to use their 21st Century Scholarship to go toward tuition expenses for all study abroad programs in which IU collects fees. This means that there are a huge number of study abroad programs that are now open to the 21st Century Scholars that previously were not.

The fist  deadline to apply for summer study abroad programs is fast approaching, so I have schedule on information session on Studying Abroad and the 21st Century Scholarship for this Friday, January 21, 2011, from 4 – 5 pm in the Eigenmann Hall Formal Lounge. Representatives from the Office of Overseas Study will be there to talk about their summer, fall, and spring Study Abroad programs and the steps you must take to enroll and use your 21st Century Scholarship or the special summer funds.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP by going to - http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/6DHNX79 - so we can get an idea of how many Scholars will be there.  I know it’s close to dinner time, so pizza and refreshments will be served.
