Heritage and Community Tourism in Yucatán

 May 13 - June 17

Enroll in Summer 2015 course

“Adventure, Ruins, Ecology”

 

¨ LTAM-L426 Spec Topics; 6 credits

¨ ½  weeks Summer course

¨ First week  on-campus; 3   weeks living  in Yucatán, from May 22 to Jun 1

¨ Final class is Jun 17

¨ Work with Maya  Communities near Chichén Itzá, New 7 Wonder of World

¨ Field Trips to: Maya Riviera, Merida,  Eco-Attractions, Cenotes,  Archaeological Sites 

¨ Program Cost $2140  includes tuition,  insurance, lodging & all meals, and field trips

 

¨ Students work on projects that increase local benefits &  foment sustainable communities

¨ Students Create Marketing,  Make Video, Design Publicity,  Develop Social Media for community owned tourism attractions, Plan Tourism Strategies for community partners and non-profit organizations
