POSITION DESCRIPTION
Acts as the contact person for the City with community organizations involved in giving support to immigrant populations and/or promoting diversity and cultures. In conjunction with various organizations, develops tools for the coordination of resources available to new immigrants to better serve and assist them. Plans, organizes, and undertakes all phases of community-wide events promoting and supporting the community network providing support to Spanish speaking residents. Coordinates the translation of forms, applications, contracts, brochures, surveys, databases, publications and other materials in the department into Spanish.
EDUCATION
Minimum knowledge equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree.
TRAINING/SKILLS
Experience in document translation and knowledgeable of immigration issues. Working knowledge of current software: word processing, publishing, spreadsheets, and database programs. Ability to communicate tactfully, courteously, effectively, and present a professional image. Ability to work on multiple projects at once. Fluency in Spanish with additional languages a plus.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum experience equivalent to one (1) through three (3) years in the not-for-profit sector.
HOURS
9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday, some evenings and weekends.
SALARY RANGE
Grade 6
$36,000 - $40,000
