Rapid development in China has significantly
impacted people's work related values and attitudes through changes in social
and cultural values. This cross-generational study will examine the differences between a group of college
students and their parent’s generation in terms of their work-related values
and attitudes. Implications will be discussed to address HRD initiatives in a
time of social and economic transformation.
Jessica Li is an associate
professor of Human Resource Development, Department of Education Policy, Organization
and Leadership, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Prior to becoming a professor, she worked for large multinational corporations, including Motorola, Nokia, and Raytheon as a business executive for ten years.
