Program Officer, Recruitment and Selection, Critical Languages Scholarship Program, American Councils – Washington, DC


Based in Washington, DC, the Program Officer position for recruitment and selection for the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program organizes the promotion of intensive overseas summer language institutes for U.S. graduate and undergraduate students. The Program Officer works closely with other program staff at American Councils to develop and implement recruitment and outreach campaigns and organize the selection process. This includes organizing the production of print and electronic materials; developing and maintaining the program’s social media presence; disseminating program information; arranging campus visits; making regular public presentations in person and through virtual conferencing, contributing to the launch of the application, and administration of the selection process. The position requires close attention to detail, ability to multi-task, ability to be a self- starter, and a talent for communicating with diverse audiences.
