The Office of International Affairs seeks an individual who enjoys working in a creative and dynamic team environment for the position of Assistant Director of International Graduate Admissions.

This position supervises the graduate international admissions team consisting of two full-time International Credential Analysts, a full-time Document Imaging Processor and two hourly employees.

The Assistant Director of International Admissions is responsible for the overall management of the graduate international admissions process. This position provides leadership in the evaluation of international educational qualifications for the purpose of making graduate admission decisions. Serves as the primary liaison to the Graduate School and graduate academic departments to develop and maintain an efficient admission process and to provide training and guidance with regard to the necessary processes to admit non-immigrant graduate international students.

As a Designated School Official (DSO) for the International Admissions Office, ensures international admissions staff are appropriately trained and kept current on SEVIS guidelines with regard to the issuance of non-immigrant visa documents. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with the international admissions leadership team to determine technical specifications, construction, testing and implementation of new systems such as SUNAPSIS. Serves as graduate international admissions lead on the IU Admission Committees to report and resolve system issues, data discrepancies and policy issues affecting graduate admissions.

Occasional domestic or international travel for student recruitment purposes within an assigned recruitment territory may be required.

In-house and external training in the profession of international credential evaluation, a valuable knowledge base essential to excel in this position, will be included as part of the professional development provided for this position.

Candidates must submit a cover letter outlining their experience and interest along with a resume to be considered.
Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and at least 3 years of relevant experience in an education or technology related area, preferably in admissions, operations, advising or marketing. Ability to work independently, under limited supervision, to find solutions to complex problems is required.

Preferred candidates will hold a Master’s degree and demonstrate they have international travel experience and supervisory experience. Acquired skills in the following areas are highly valued: written and oral communication, group presentations, organizational and computer.

Prefer experience with IUPUI systems such as SIS (PeopleSoft), IUIE, OnBase, Sunapsis as well as experience with MS Access and Excel. Knowledge of immigration software systems, SEVIS and experience in international credential evaluation welcome.
