Free CAPS sessions for students

MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS MANAGEMENT:  Mondays and Wednesdays 10:00- 11:00 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:00-2:00 p.m.

Mindfulness is the practice of being in the present, not the past or future.  Use of mindfulness-based techniques is linked to reductions in anxiety, physical pain symptoms, and depression.  This psycho-educational workshop will use graduated experiences and repeated practice to cultivate a greater capacity to focus mindfully on the present.  These techniques can be an important component of stress management, allowing you to live your life with less turmoil.  These workshops are FREE and we encourage you to attend as many as you wish.

SELF-CARE FOR PEAK PERFORMANCE:  Wednesdays 1:00-2:00 p.m. (March 5-April 9)

Are you experiencing sadness, anxiety, mood swings, irritability, self-criticism, sleepless nights?  If so, then you may not be managing your stress effectively.  Some stress can help you perform better, but too much stress can lower your performance?  Learn how self-care can help you stay at your peak.  This FREE workshop will help you to identify and utilize self-care strategies.  A different topic will be covered in each workshop.  No need to register, just drop in for any or all of the sessions.

BODY ESTEEM BOOT CAMP:  Thursdays 3:00-4:30 p.m.  (February 27-April 10)

Do you often criticize your body?  Do you often compare your body to the bodies of celebrities?  Do you feel like your body image keeps you from getting close to others?  Do you want to feel better about your body, yourself and your relationships?  If YES, then Body Esteem Boot Camp is for YOU!  Each week will cover a different topic.  You are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible.
