Scholarship for Students whose studies relate to peace

Richard C. Hess Peace Studies Scholarship

 

Recognizing the importance of studying ways to develop and maintain peace at

home, in the community, and in the world, the Richard C. Hess Peace Studies

Scholarship, established in 2008, annually provides a $1,000 scholarship for

tuition and fees for a student majoring in peace studies or a related program at an

accredited university/college offering such a degree. Funds for the Richard C.

Hess Peace Studies Scholarship are provided by earnings from the endowment

established by the Hess family and other contributions made to honor his memory.

 

Application Procedures and Guidelines

Applicants must be beginning or continuing an undergraduate or graduate major in

peace studies or a related program at an accredited university/college offering such

a degree.

 

All requested information must be received by April 15. Incomplete applications are ineligible.

 

Entries on the form and all attachments should be printed or written legibly in blue

or black ink so photocopies can be made.

 

Narrative information must be double spaced on 8½" x 11" white paper with one inch margins on all sides. In addition to content, narrative information will be

judged on grammar, spelling, punctuation, and neatness.

to the Grants and Scholarships Subcommittee by calling the Church office (260)
