The course will provide hands-on experience in field geology and
the paleoanthropology of Olduvai Gorge site situated on the flanks of East
African Rift Valley in northern Tanzania. This field course will take advantage
of the IU's long established reputation for field school instruction in the
Earth sciences. Together with the research experiences available at Olduvai
Gorge, students will learn how to integrate scientific methods and tools in
multidisciplinary research and develop skills in making field observations, and
record and interpret field data.
