Beatriz Dujovne (author of In Strangers’ Arms: The Magic of Tango, Psychologist, and Tanguera), Alfredo Minetti (scholar, musician, and co-director of This is Tango Now), and Joni Chan (concert pianist with a doctorate in piano from IU) will lead the morning class in a demonstration, debate and involvement of the audience in the magic of tango.  The Tango Piano Duo, Beatriz Dujovne, and Dr. Anya Royce will explore the idea of strangers coming together, the concept of the embrace, and the cultural perception and performance of time. Audience involvement aims at people’s understanding of some of the main characteristics of tango, using their own bodies as the platform for reaching understanding. Guests welcome.
