The American University of Mongolia’s English Language
Institute has a position available for a professional English language teacher
who has the following qualifications: at least one year of experience teaching
English; must be a professional teacher with either a degree or certificate in
English Language Teaching ; possess strong skills in written and spoken
English; have a strong background in student-centered learning, critical and
creative thinking and authentic assessment; be willing to explore new ideas and
to experiment with classroom approaches and techniques; and be dedicated to
continuing professional development
In addition, the teacher will be expected to participate
in ELI continuing professional development activities. This can include peer coaching,
observation tasks, course development, assessment evaluation, team teaching and
teacher workshops.
The AUM English Language Institute currently offers
courses in Everyday English, English for Professionals and TOEFL iBT
Preparation.
About the AUM English Language Institute The AUM English
Language Institute is currently establishing itself as the premiere English
language program in Mongolia. AUM will be the country’s first US-accredited
four-year liberal arts undergraduate university and will begin enrolling
freshmen in 2015. The English Language Institute will be critical to the
university’s success. Teachers in this program will be vital with regard to
designing the curriculum, establishing standards and training new teachers in
an environment that values professional development, accountability and quality
instruction.
