International Vocal Ensemble

 

We are pleased to invite all students, faculty members, and staff to join the International Vocal Ensemble. IVE learns and performs musical repertoire from outside the western art tradition by meeting with natives and scholars of each culture to learn repertoire and cultural context, singing in original languages, and developing appropriate vocal and musical skills to reproduce each culture's music.

 

Rehearsals are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:50 pm in Sweeney Hall (Room M015) in the Simon Music building, located on Jordan Avenue just north of 3^rd Street. All rehearsals are open to the public.

Singers are not required to register for X70 in order to participate in IVE (you may join as a volunteer). However, IVE is an MUS X70 JSoM Choral ensemble and may be taken as a course for credit.
