The Director of the Kennan Institute will conduct ongoing
research, writing, media commentary and outreach to key policy audiences on
contemporary and historical developments; formulate ongoing strategic planning
that positions the Kennan Institute as a leading center for knowledge and
policy ideas; helps build knowledge and develop new policy ideas on U. S.
relations with the region; briefs the U.S. Congress and key policymaking
communities; coordinates activities with the Vice President for Communications
and Media Relations to ensure optimal media outreach and web-based products;
and fundraises and ensures optimal and responsible management of resources to
