Academic Year Sustainability Internship Symposium: 11:30AM - 2:00PM, Neal Marshall Grand Hall


This year's symposium will feature the academic year research projects of IU Bloomington's sustainability interns. The agenda will include:(1) Complimentary lunch featuring local food (2) Project presentations by three interns (3) A poster session illustrating project findings for each intern. We encourage you to register now to help us plan appropriately for the event. 

Sustainability Eduction Tour: 1:00PM - 3:00PM, Bloomington Project School


Gather at Sample Gates at 12:45pm to join up with the Sustainability Education Tour. This event will feature a tour of the Bloomington Project School as well as a discussion about sustainability education and the work of Building Tomorrow.

Jae Rhim Lee (2011 TED Global Fellow) is a visual artist, designer, and researcher whose work focuses on relationships between the mind/body/self and the built and natural environment. Ms. Lee as been selected as our keynote speaker because her work embodies the transformative and "out there" (to use her own words) thinking necessary to create new solutions for issues of environmental sustainability. If a "Mushroom Death Suit" sounds interesting to you, come to find out more!

A Day in the Dirt at the Campus Garden: 10:00AM - 1:00PM, Hilltop Garden


Join us for a workday at the Campus Garden Initiative's new plot at Hilltop: learn and practice skills for planning, planting and tending to edible plants and meet fellow volunteers passionate about growing food for our campus!Tools and gloves are provided. Photo Scavenger Hunt: 11:30AM - 3:00PM, Dunn Meadow


Participants should meet in Dunn Meadow (with their cameras) at 11:30 to receive the list of Hunt items and to hear rules and other details. Doughnuts will be served at 11am, and winners will be announced at 3:30, after a short review period. There will be prizes for the top winners! Hosted by Coal Free IU. Bike-to-the-Farm: 1:00PM - 4:00PM, Dandelion Ecovillage


Interested in getting some exercise and learning a thing or two about gardening? Bike to the Dandelion Ecovillage!
