MA in West European Studies at IU


Are you interested in the humanities, languages, politics, policy or economics of Western Europe or the European Union? Are you seeking ways to apply your language skills and interest in Europe in a career? Consider a MA in West European Studies at Indiana University. The newly revised degree offers:

Ø  A highly individualized and flexible program that allows students to tailor the degree to their particular areas of interest

Ø   An 18-month degree plan

Ø  MA/MBA with the Kelley School of Business; and MA/MPA with the School of Public and Environmental Affairs

IU’s language departments are nationally recognized for their high quality. Offerings consist of over 80 languages, including Catalan, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Modern Greek, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish and Yiddish with independent study available in Swedish, Welsh and Icelandic. Proficiency of intermediate mid/intermediate high is required in one language tied to the student’s area of study.

WEST offers competitive funding packages for select students in the form of graduate assistantships and university-wide scholarships and fellowships for graduate students are numerous.
