Slavics Study Skills Workshop

Dear students of the many languages of the Slavic department,

I will be offering a free language study skills workshop (with free pizza and soft drinks!) next Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, 5:45-7:45 pm in Ballantine Hall 242.  Since we are a third of the way into the semester, most of you have 1) grappled with the intricacies of your language, 2) done lots of homework, 3) started seeing where you are having trouble, and 4) perhaps already had your first test.  The goal of this workshop is to discuss the most common troubles that students have studying a foreign language, how to overcome them, how to develop study skills (and why they work), and how to save time and energy in the process.

Every year many students report to me that the workshop is very helpful in reducing stress and making them better language learners (and better students in general, since the tips work across disciplines!).

Please RSVP (as indicated below) before Wednesday morning, so that I know much pizza to buy.  I hope to see you there!
