Fair Trade Bloomington Call-Out Meeting

FAIR TRADE BLOOMINGTON CALL-OUT MEETING

Tuesday, September 14th at 7pm in the IMU Sassafras Room

Fair Trade Bloomington will be hosting our first meeting of the year!

Fair trade is an organized social movement and market-based approach that aims to help producers in developing countries obtain better trading conditions and promote sustainability. The movement advocates for the payment of a higher price to producers as well as social and environmental standards. It focuses, in particular on exports from developing countries to developed countries, most notably handicrafts and food products. This year, we will host many events on campus and in the community advocating for fair trade as well as selling fair trade products. Fair Trade Bloomington also offers an opportunity to travel abroad to Africa to observe and work with fair trade cooperatives. If you are interested in the arts, microeconomics, anthropology, international issues, traveling abroad or much more, please join our cause!
