Attn Grads: Interested in Education & the Middle East?


Job Description: Manages the Center for the Study of the Middle East (CSME); oversees the Center’s outreach, business, grant-making, and academic components; manages all CSME accounts; and supervises staff. Facilitates relationships with alumni and donors, coordinates interactions between faculty and students in CSME’s various academic constituencies, facilitates new course proposals, conceptualizes and conducts outreach events, plans and administers workshops and conferences, submits periodic reports on grant activities to agencies, researches additional grant opportunities, coordinates and administers internal competitions for grant funding, and assists in constructing grant proposals.
 
Qualifications:

REQUIRED: Master’s degree in a field of Middle Eastern studies and two to three years experience in a management position in higher education, nonprofit, philanthropic, or public sectors.

Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate with diverse constituencies, and proven administrative and fiscal skills needed. Administrative and fiscal experience within an academic setting preferred. Grant writing experience and knowledge of Indiana University policies, procedures, and systems including HRMS, FIS, and SIS desirable. A master’s degree in another field with sufficient experience in Middle Eastern or related studies may be considered.
