Job Opportunity – U.S. Citizens Fluent in Spanish

Use your Spanish language skills to contribute to a more democratic, secure and prosperous world as a Consular Adjudicator.
With Latin America growing at a rapid pace, the U.S. Department of State needs American citizens, with proficiency in Spanish, to work as limited non-career appointment (LNA) Consular Adjudicators in high-volume posts.
Initially, these appointments are for a period of 13 months, and then renewable for up to five years, based on satisfactory performance and the needs of the Foreign Service. An LNA appointment will not lead to further employment with the U.S. Department of State or conversion to another form of employment. For specific requirements, and to apply, please visit careers.state.gov/CALNASP. After reading the vacancy announcement, if you have specific questions, please post them on the Foreign Service Consular Adjudicator forum found in the Engage>Forums/Blogs section on the careers site.
Since we now offer three different positions with separate language requirements, we encourage you to update your subscription to receive email updates for the specific language in which you have fluency. Click here to subscribe.
Ability to obtain medical and security clearances is required. U.S. citizenship is required. An equal opportunity employer.
